Yachtmaster Selects J World San Francisco
J World San Francisco
has been selected by International Yachtmaster Training, Inc. to be
the exclusive issuer of their Yachtmaster Coastal Certification in
Northern California. This first step in the Yachtmaster Training
program is a one-week course, which is acceptable for bareboat
chartering worldwide, and the first step to a career in the exciting
world of professional yachting.
International Yachtmaster Training, Inc. (IYT) is the world’s leader
in yacht training for the recreational yachtsman and professional
yacht crew. The company has training facilities in the US, the
United Kingdom, South Africa, Portugal, Greece, Croatia and Turkey.
Twenty governments throughout the world recognize IYT courses for both
recreational and commercial purposes.
J/World’s selection was based upon their reputation as the premier
sail training facility on the West Coast. IYT representative Mark
Fry is “delighted to be represented by such a prestigious school”.
This selection continues to give credence to the quality of
instruction offered by J World San Francisco.
Candidates for this certification should have logged 30 days and 800
miles, including 2 days as watch leader/captain, and 12 hours
underway on watch at night. Candidates may sit the course prior to
obtaining the minimum sea time. However, they will not be issued
their Yachtmaster Coastal Certificate until all requirements have
been met.
The Captain or owner of the yacht on which the candidate was sailing
must sign verification of yachting experience.
This course will provide you with a thorough knowledge of theory and
seamanship skills to confidently handle a yacht.
