Sunsail Bareboat And Yacht Charter Fleet

The Sunsail-Stardust combined fleet of over 1200 monohulls and catamarans offers the widest choice for a sailing vacation in the world today.

Unlike most other charter companies who merely act as agents between the charterer and the agent with no control over standards, Sunsail alone operates and maintains their fleet. The fleet is annually inspected by senior members of their experienced management and technical team. Our ongoing standards of maintenance and attention to detail, shown by the carefully selected crew are second to none.

When Sunsail orders yachts, there are certain extras that they specify to make your vacation more enjoyable. Apart from attention to mechanical details, they also insist on the following:

  • Cockpit Shower

  • Increased Water Capacity where necessary

  • Boarding/Swimming Ladder

  • Extra Ventilation Hatches

  • Roller Furling Headsail

  • Upgraded Refrigeration

Minimum Yacht Inventory - Sailing Equipment

  • GPS (upon request)

  • Furling Genoa Sail

  • Reefing or Furling Mainsail

  • Main and kedge anchors with chain and warp

  • Mooring lines and fenders

  • Main and hand bearing compass

  • Cockpit cushions

  • Chart, chart plotter, dividers, pencils, eraser

  • Binoculars

  • Sunsail Cruising Guide and/or Pilot Book

  • Windscoop

  • Bimini Top

  • Electric windlass on all yachts listed over 36ft

Minimum Safety Equipment:

All yachts' safety equipment meets or exceeds the safety standards set by the country of registration for the vessel and the country or area of operation. If the above does not include life rafts, we provide them as we see fit for sensible safety precaution.

  • VHF Radio

  • Lifejackets and safety harnesses

  • Children's lifejackets and harnesses at base (4 yrs +)

  • Lifebuoy, flares, fire extinguisher

  • Inflatable or rigid bottom dinghy

  • Flashlight and batteries

  • First aid kit

  • Electric log and depth sounder

Linen:

  • Comforters and/or Duvets

  • Sheets and Pillows

  • Bath Towels (not beach towels)

Galley and Domestic Equipment:

  • Two burner stove and grill and/or oven

  • Galley utensils, silverware and cookware

  • Coffeepot, kettle and corkscrew

  • Food containers

  • Tea towels

  • Masks, snorkels and fins - selected sizes available

  • FM radio/Compact Disc Player

  • Transom Barbecue*

Optional Extras:

Outboard Engines
Available as an Optional Extra for your yacht tender in the following sailing areas:

The Mediterranean (excluding the Balearics where they are standard equipment) and Annapolis.

Not available in the UK.

Due to the nature of mooring in the following areas with more evenings spent at anchor on buoys, outboards are provided as standard equipment for tenders:

The Balearics, Canada, the Caribbean, Whitsundays, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Seychelles, Sydney, Tampa, Thailand and Tonga.

GPS
These are standard in the Balearics, Malaysia, the Seychelles, Thailand, the UK and Vancouver, Canada. Available as an optional extra in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and Thailand. Not available in Australia or Tonga (line-of-sight sailing).

Ocean Kayaks
These can be reserved at the time of booking for the exclusive use of your party for the duration of your vacation. All flotilla leadboats carry one Ocean Kayak for free general use by everyone.

Available in the Caribbean, Croatia, Greece, Malaysia, the Seychelles, Thailand, Turkey and Tonga.

Windsurfers
These can be reserved at the time of booking for the exclusive use of your party for the duration of your vacation.

These are available in the Balearics, British Virgin Islands, Cote d'Azur, Croatia, Greece, Malaysia, the Seychelles, Thailand, Turkey and the Windward Islands (Guadelope, Martinique and St. Vincent).

Cruising Chutes
These are available in the Balearics, Canada, Cote d'Azur, Croatia, Greece, Malaysia, the Saychelles, Thailand and Turkey.

We offer cruising chutes (poleless spinnakers) for use on board your yacht. The cruising chute is easier and safer to use than a conventional spinnaker and gives you and your crew the chance of some really exhilarating broad reaching and down wind sailing.
