Skippered Sailing Charters
Come sailing with us!
San Francisco Bay and Puerto Vallarta represent two of the world's
greatest venues for sailing. Each location boasts fantastic
scenery, great destinations, and exceptional sailing conditions.
Our skippers are part of our instructional staff, so if you want to
learn a bit on your trip and participate in the sailing of the boat,
we'll be happy to put you to work... but of course if you just want
to kick back and relax, that's perfectly fine!
We offer sailing
charters and trips on sailboats from 26 to 54 feet and can
accommodate parties of all sizes.

Bareboat Sailing Charters
Sailboats may be
chartered bareboat (without a skipper) by sailors with adequate
previous experience and skills. For most charters, we require
proficiency to the US Sailing Basic Cruising Certification level
(you do not have to have earned the certification).
Bareboat Charter
Eligibility:
Due to the sometimes
challenging conditions which can arise unexpectedly, any skipper desiring to
bareboat charter vessels
within the
J World Sailing Club are expected to demonstrate proficient
sailing skills. All club candidates are expected to do the
following:

Sailors must have
completed J World’s
Performance Cruising Course (or elsewhere attained the
US Sailing Basic Cruising
Certification), OR provide complete documentation attesting
to equivalent experience (click
here for details).

All sailors must
have a good familiarity with their intended sailing venue,
including prevailing
conditions, and dominant weather patterns.

All candidates must
pass a written, multiple choice test administered by our staff.

Candidates must
complete, to our satisfaction, an on-the-water demonstration of
skill, including such maneuvers as heaving -to, reefing,
crew-overboard recovery, and docking under sail.
