US Sailing Certification
US Sailing, the national governing body of the sport of sailing in
the US, offers the most widely acknowledged sailor certification
standards in the world.

For advanced sailors and professionals in the marine industry, there
is now a global standard recognized by 24 countries worldwide as a
license to operate vessels.

J/World Certificates
Completion of a J/World course earns a J/World certificate,
recognized by sailing associations, charter companies, and insurance
companies around the world.
We offer US Sailing
Certification at no charge with some of our sailing classes. We feel
that sailing certification, while important, is not imperative for
all of our students.
Certifications are not themselves a goal. The goal of sailing
education is to learn safe and efficient practices and to build
experience. J/World has been teaching sailing longer than any
authority has been certifying sailors. We are proud that our
courses are more comprehensive and challenging than ANY standard.
If you just want to get certified, there are places you can go and
spend less money and less time.
But if you really want to learn, come to J/World.
We offer sailing certification as an option for students that will
be chartering boats in the future and want to have a recognized log
book for keeping records of their sailing. There is a written and
practical portion of each exam with each sailing certification.
