J World, the Performance Sailing School and Club, offers skippered and bareboat charters out of our Puerto Vallarta sailing base in the beautiful Banderas Bay.  Located on the west coast of Mexico (between Mazatlan to the north and Acapulco to the south) this venue offers some of the best and most consistent sailing on the continent:  the weather is fantastic throughout the winter with t-shirts and shorts being the standard attire. The breezes are wonderfully consistent, and the scenery is spectacular. Add to that the abundant wildlife - whales, dolphins, turtles - and you have a truly special place....

We have boats ranging from 26 feet to 52 feet, and can accommodate single sailors and large groups. Our staff of professional captains, world-class sailors, and renown instructors are available for skippered charters, private groups, all levels of sailing instruction, or qualified sailors can bareboat charter. 

Sailing Trips in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Numerous destinations within the Bay make this a fabulous place for day trips...  some of our favorite outings are:

• Sail to Yelapa, Las Animas, Quimixto, or one of the lesser visited coves along the jungle covered south shore

• Cruise to Los Arcos for some swimming and diving

• Head out to the Marietta Islands at the mouth of the bay...  anchor for lunch and swimming/snorkeling

• Whale watching

• Sail to La Cruz, or Punta Mita...  head ashore at the smaller towns for a waterfront lunch

• Just enjoy the stellar sailing in Banderas Bay

At J World Sailing School, Club, and Charters, above else we have a love of sailing...  and of fine sailing vessels.  To us, there is nothing quite as sweet as a well balanced boat with a powerful sail plan.  And when we head out on the water, we expect to SAIL.  Everyone aboard who wants to can be an active member of the crew, trimming sails and driving the boat.  But those who prefer to simply relax, enjoying the scenery and maybe keeping a watchful eye for whales, are certainly welcome to not do anything.  This is a special experience, and not your typical cattle-boat with a big engine and stacks of people.  You will be aboard the latest generation sportboat, a real sailing machine, and you crew will be some of the best sailors and coaches in the world.
