Winter?  What winter?  Not only has the sailing has been fantastic in Puerto Vallarta (as to be expected), but a mild season so far has been making for some truly exceptional days on San Francisco Bay as well.

Here at J World, this means that we have been doing a ton of sailing...  and there is more on-tap.  Racers?   You'll find a couple of fantastic opportunities below.  Cruisers?  Oh, we've got plans for you.  And if are new to the sport, we've got just the thing to get you started...

social seminar.  Hosted by the Waterfront Hotel and Almar Oakland Marinas, J World will introduce you to the sport and leisure of sailing, and the America’s Cup events coming to the Bay Area in 2012 and 2013.  We invite you to come learn about the many different ways to get started in sailing or to increase your opportunities and options!

Vallarta Cup Wrap Up

MEXORC is a truly special event. Held every two years, the regatta plays host to all the boats that have sailed down from California in the San Diego to Puerto Vallarta Yacht Race, and the Mexican fleet that comes up from Acapulco. There are six days of racing, including three days of point-to-point, medium distance races all around Banderas Bay, and three days of buoy racing.  This event traditionally has a truly fantastic shore side agenda, including great parties, beautiful on-the-beach dinners, and an extravagant closing ceremony...  in fact, it is so over-the-top that the President of Mexico even came to the last MEXORC!

J World is entering our renowned Hula Girl in the regatta, and we have limited berths available.  The team will be led by a group of J World coaches, and is a great opportunity to come have some real fun and strengthen your skills!  Visit here for more info...

In addition to all our special events, we have a couple of racing weeks coming up in Puerto Vallarta.  The weeks of February 6 and April 2 still have availability, so if you are looking for the opportunity to learn some new tricks, to get your boat-speed and sail handling ready for the season, here's your chance.

We all want to thank you for a great week in Nuevo Vallarta learning more about sailing and how to be effective, fast sailors.  Both of our instructors were amazing teachers, and as always, your lectures and insights were great and inspirational.  We returned home charged up and impatient to get our boat in the water and to teach our friends and crew members many of he things we learned.  Being alumni of J World is a great badge on our resumes and we will certainly return again.  Also, [my wife and daughter] enjoyed Paradise Village.  They had a wonderful vacation and also got out to doing some sailing and some learning.  Thank you for everything. 

Bring the family (or don't).  Get down here in February (or March or April).  Pack the flip flops and sunscreen, and a camera for the whales.  Brag to your friends at the sailing club bar about your upcoming trip to the land of sunshine (or don't...  your secret is safe with us).  And clear some space on the trophy shelf....  this is going to be fun!

Yep.  Middle of winter.  Banderas Bay Clinic and Regatta action.

The dates for our annual cruise across the mouth of the Sea of Cortez have been set.  On April 29 to May 4, come join one of our top cruising instructors for and adventure in the tropics.  We'll spend a day or two in the beautiful Banderas Bay, then work our way up the coast of mainland Mexico visiting small towns, beautiful anchorages, and remote islands along the way.  Then we'll turn West, and head for the southern end of the Baja peninsula.  Great sailing, beautiful scenery, incredible wildlife are all on the agenda.  More info here.
 

Each Summer, J World Sailing School hosts a truly special offshore adventure for sailors looking to learn the intricacies of offshore passage making on an actual adventure. Departing in late July, we will be sailing across the Eastern Pacific from Hawaii to San Francisco.  That's a more than a couple thousand miles of offshore sailing.  If you have wanted to cross oceans and would like to take the first step under the watchful tutelage of a world class sailor and instructor, this is your chance.  Click here for more info. 

Join our J World Team on a J/80 for this winter series. Participants rotate thru all the positions onboard (including helm) and gain valuable insights and experience from an onboard J World coach. Take advantage of the winter months to see what racing is all about, or if you already have the bug, improve your sailing skills and prep for the 2012 season.  Very limited space, so contact us early...
