Yacht design has made significant progress in recent years, making sailboats not only faster, but also much more comfortable, maneuverable, manageable, and infinitely safer. Don’t suffer through the frustrations of trying to learn to sail on yester-years dinosaurs, boats that are too small (and wet and cold!) or too big (slow to respond to your efforts) or too old (some out-dated cruiser thrown into sailing school service). After three decades of working with students, we know what works. At J/World Sailing School, you will sail only contemporary, professionally maintained vessels in your sailing lessons. Come experience the thrill and pleasure of sailing on boats which sail well. J/World San Francisco, the Performance Sailing School and Sailing Club, is currently instructing on the J-80, J-105, and the J-120, in addition to other quality vessels... not just J Boats! Keep in mind that while we often use J-Boats for our sailing lessons, we aren't owned by J-Boats and we don't sell J-Boats. We aren't a broker and you'll never get a sales pitch from us!

The
'workhorse' of our San Francisco location is the J/80. With a
huge cockpit and high boom, this 26 foot sportboat is both
comfortable and safe. But make no mistake; this
workhorse is pretty light on her feet! Sporting a versatile
sail plan and a spinnaker which can easily be flown by a crew of
two, surfing runs across the Bay at 15+ knots provide quite a
thrill.
The 35-foot J/105 is one of the most popular boats on San Francisco
Bay for good reason. Ease of handling, admirable speed,
and a wonderfully balanced helm have created a boat which is
manageable across a wide range of conditions and great fun to sail.
Loaded with family, friends, or a full racing crew, the J/105 will
leave you smiling.
Coastal
cruising and passage-making are now easier and more enjoyable than
ever before. The J/120 sailboat brought performance sailing to
high seas. The exceptional performance and construction of the
40-footer earned it the distinction of being selected as Cruising
World Magazine's Overall Sailboat of the Year...
This
beautiful boat is a fast offshore passagemaker with all the comfort
amenities you can imagine. Elegant under sail, luxurious below
